New York City is preparing to celebrate one of its most iconic winter experiences. The Rink at Rockefeller Center, one of the world's most famous ice-skating destinations, will return on October 10, 2026, for its historic 90th season.

The new season will combine nine decades of skating history with reimagined experiences for New Yorkers and international travelers visiting the city during the fall, winter and holiday season. Tickets are already on sale, with prices starting at $22 per person, excluding skate rentals.

As part of its 90th anniversary celebrations, Rockefeller Center will introduce new experiences throughout the 2026-2027 season. Beginning on November 14, visitors will be able to enjoy an expanded Skate House and a new VIP Skate Lounge, featuring seasonal food and beverage offerings.

A refreshed VIP Skate experience will also launch on the same date, offering priority access to the ice, exclusive lounge areas, complimentary warm beverages and snacks, as well as seasonal surprises.

The popular Holiday Chalets presented by Balsam Hill will return on November 6, offering a private and festive experience for groups of up to six guests. The chalets provide a unique view overlooking the iconic rink and, during the holiday season, the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. The festive menu will be curated by acclaimed chef Greg Baxtrom and his Rockefeller Center restaurant, 5 Acres.

Another major addition to the anniversary season will arrive on November 20 with the debut of The Rink 90th Anniversary Lodges. The six new spaces will offer a larger and more celebratory version of the classic chalet experience, accommodating groups of up to eight guests.

The history of The Rink dates back to 1936, when it was originally created as a temporary attraction designed to draw visitors to Rockefeller Center's outdoor plaza. Over the decades, the space has also been transformed into tennis courts, soccer fields, fashion show venues and even a roller-skating rink.

Today, more than 250,000 skaters enjoy The Rink each year, making it one of the defining symbols of winter in New York City.

For international travelers, skating at Rockefeller Center remains one of Manhattan's most memorable experiences and can easily be combined with other attractions throughout the complex, including Top of the Rock, The Beam and SKYLIFT, as well as restaurants, shopping and cultural experiences.

As it enters its 90th season, The Rink begins a new chapter, bringing together tradition, entertainment, gastronomy and premium experiences in one of New York City's most celebrated settings.
