On November 20, 2024, the U.S. Travel Association will host a prestigious celebration in Washington, D.C., to honor two influential figures in the travel and tourism industry. Christopher L. Thompson, former President and CEO of Brand USA, and William D. “Bill” Talbert, III, former President and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be inducted into the renowned U.S. Travel Hall of Leaders.

The Hall of Leaders, established in 1969, represents the pinnacle of achievement in the travel industry. This honor recognizes individuals whose visionary leadership and sustained contributions have not only strengthened the travel and tourism sector but have also elevated it on a global scale.

Thompson and Talbert join an illustrious group of past honorees, including Roger Dow (2022), Caroline Beteta (2016), and even Walt Disney (2001). The award underscores their impact in fostering unity and growth within the industry, extending beyond their respective organizations.

This year’s inductees have demonstrated exemplary dedication to promoting travel as a vital economic and cultural driver. Their work has strengthened partnerships and advanced initiatives that benefit travelers, communities, and the global economy.
