Walt Disney World theme parks will open beginning July 11 for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15. The league's Board of Governors approved a 22-team plan on Thursday to resume the season at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the NBA announced.
Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal's Volcano Bay will open with limited attendance and safety guidelines in place. Universal's CityWalk entertainment center reopened on May 14.
Epcot and Hollywood Studios would reopen on July 15.
The announcement indicates that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has approved the reopening plan Universal submitted. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings endorses the reopening plan in a letter he sent to the governor on Friday morning.
“We are excited to reopen and provide an entertaining break from the day-to-day world,” states Island H2O Water Park General Manager Jim Kunau. “We look forward to providing wonderful memories for our guests and their families. Our entire team has been working hard to prepare the park and welcome our guests back. ”
Disney Springs has reopened their doors today, but not all restaurants and shops will open.
Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld will begin presenting their reopening plans on Thursday, Orange County officials said.
