The Tortuga Music Festival kicked off this Friday, April 10, in Fort Lauderdale, launching a new edition that is already drawing thousands of fans to the beaches of South Florida. With an estimated attendance of up to 30,000 people per day, the event continues to establish itself as one of the most prominent music gatherings in the region.
The 2026 edition, running through Sunday, April 12, features a top-tier lineup headlined by Post Malone, Kenny Chesney, and Riley Green, alongside a strong roster that includes Ice Cube, The Fray, and Colbie Caillat, among other international artists.
Beyond the music, the festival maintains its distinctive identity by blending entertainment with environmental awareness. Organized by the Rock The Ocean Foundation, the event has raised more than $6 million to support marine conservation, funding scientific research and educational programs.
At the same time, local authorities have reinforced safety and prevention measures for this high-attendance weekend. The Fort Lauderdale Fire Department warned about high temperatures and advised attendees to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and moderate alcohol consumption to avoid heat-related incidents.
Police officials also urged festivalgoers to contribute to public safety by reporting any suspicious activity and following instructions from personnel on site. The operation includes controlled access points and a continuous presence of emergency teams along the beach.
Regarding logistics, significant traffic delays are expected on major roads near the venue, and the use of alternative transportation such as water taxis and rail services connecting to the city is strongly recommended.
With live music, a strong environmental commitment, and massive attendance, the Tortuga Music Festival reaffirms its position as one of the most important events in the U.S. music calendar, combining high-level entertainment with a sustainable mission.
