The Caribbean destination has been nominated for Best Culinary Destination in the Caribbean at the 2026 Travvy Awards. The awards gala will take place on November 5 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as Saint-Martin steps up its efforts to showcase its gastronomic identity to the U.S. travel trade.
Saint-Martin is strengthening its reputation as a Caribbean culinary destination after earning a nomination in the Best Culinary Destination in the Caribbean category at the 2026 Travvy Awards. The recognition highlights the destination’s distinctive food culture, its chefs and restaurants, and a culinary offering shaped by local traditions and international influences.
The Saint-Martin Tourism Office will be in Florida from November 4 to 6 to take part in activities surrounding one of the U.S. travel industry's major awards events. The 12th annual Travvy Awards gala is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. The awards recognize outstanding destinations, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and other travel industry players.
The nomination provides an opportunity to raise Saint-Martin’s profile among U.S. travel advisors and tourism professionals, an important audience for Caribbean destinations. Organized by TravelPulse and AGENTatHome, the Travvy Awards recognize leading names across the travel sector, with winners determined through voting by travel advisors.
Gastronomy at the heart of the destination
Food is a defining part of Saint-Martin’s identity. French culinary traditions blend with Caribbean flavors and influences from different cultures, creating a diverse dining scene that ranges from refined restaurants to authentic local experiences.
A central element of the destination’s culinary promotion is the Saint-Martin Gastronomy Festival, which will celebrate its sixth edition from November 11 to 22, 2026. Organized by the Saint-Martin Tourism Office, this year's festival will place coconut in the spotlight and feature tastings, workshops, culinary demonstrations, competitions and activities across the destination.
The 2026 program introduces new competitions, including pizza-making and johnny cake, alongside activities celebrating mixology, street food and the creativity of local culinary professionals. The festival aims to showcase the destination’s products, expertise and gastronomic diversity to both residents and visitors.
Saint-Martin’s Travvy Awards nomination reinforces its efforts to promote a tourism experience that extends beyond beaches and coastal scenery. Gastronomy offers another reason to visit, while helping support local restaurants, chefs and food-related businesses.
Through its presence in Florida and the promotion of its November culinary calendar, Saint-Martin aims to strengthen relationships with U.S. travel professionals and bring greater international attention to one of the destination’s most distinctive cultural assets.
