Grenada named among the top 30 Thanksgiving travel destinations in the Americas and Caribbean
Travel And Tour World has included Grenada in its selection of the top 30 Thanksgiving travel destinations across the Americas and Caribbean, highlighting the island’s distinctive historical heritage and its unique October Thanksgiving celebration, which has already taken place successfully.
Grenada has been recognized among the top 30 Thanksgiving travel destinations in the Americas and Caribbean in a ranking published by Travel And Tour World (TTW). The selection brings together destinations known for their historical significance, cultural traditions, regional cuisine and distinctive seasonal experiences.
Grenada offers a particularly interesting perspective on Thanksgiving. Unlike the November celebration widely associated with the United States, the island commemorates its own Thanksgiving in October, rooted in a defining chapter of its national history. This distinctive observance has already taken place, successfully reaffirming its place in Grenada’s historical memory and cultural identity.
The island’s inclusion in the ranking highlights the diversity of experiences available throughout the Caribbean, where tourism extends beyond beaches and tropical landscapes to encompass local history, traditions and cultural heritage. Grenada’s Thanksgiving observance offers visitors an opportunity to discover a meaningful part of the island’s identity and understand the historical events that shaped the nation.
New York City tops TTW’s list, followed by Plymouth, Cancún, Liberia in Costa Rica, Toronto, Punta Cana, Chicago, Montego Bay, Philadelphia and San Juan, Puerto Rico. New York is preparing to host the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 26, featuring its celebrated giant balloons, elaborate floats and live performances.
The ranking also includes Canadian destinations such as Montréal, Kitchener, Vancouver, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Québec City and Ottawa, alongside Caribbean destinations offering distinctive cultural traditions and holiday experiences. São Paulo and Mexico City are also featured for their Thanksgiving gatherings and dining experiences catering to international communities and American visitors.
Grenada’s recognition reinforces the island’s appeal as a destination where visitors can discover the Caribbean’s rich cultural diversity, explore its history and experience traditions that distinguish it within the region.
