Saint Lucia brings international tourism leaders, buyers and media together to experience the island, its communities and its diverse tourism offerings firsthand.

Saint Lucia is opening a new chapter in its international tourism strategy with the inaugural Saint Lucia Showcase International, bringing together more than 100 tourism professionals, buyers, media representatives and industry partners from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Held at Royalton Saint Lucia under the theme “Welcome to Our World… Welcome to Our Communities,” the Showcase introduces a new approach to international trade engagement by bringing global travel partners directly to the destination to experience its tourism offering, communities, people and culture firsthand.

Addressing delegates at the opening ceremony, Louis Lewis, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, challenged international travel partners to look beyond the island's familiar attractions and discover broader opportunities across the destination.

“Saint Lucia International Showcase is about moving beyond simply showcasing the destination to creating tangible opportunities for growth,” Lewis said, emphasizing the importance of turning the island's people, stories and experiences into meaningful partnerships, new business and new reasons for travelers around the world to choose Saint Lucia.

The initiative reflects Saint Lucia's efforts to evolve its tourism offering beyond traditional attractions and accommodation, placing greater emphasis on authentic, immersive and community-connected experiences.

Among the experiences adding new dimensions to the destination is Below Saint Lucia, an underwater sculpture park, alongside a growing portfolio of community-based tourism activities that allow visitors to connect with local people, culture, cuisine, agriculture and the natural environment.

The Community Tourism Agency, led by CEO Dahlia Guard, plays a central role in the Showcase, facilitating opportunities for international delegates to experience tourism products developed within communities across the island.

The program includes Llewellyn Xavier's Art Gallery in the north, ATV and eco-friendly e-biking adventures, farm-to-table experiences, sea moss activities and emerging culinary and cultural experiences.

Guard highlighted the economic dimension of community tourism, explaining that the objective is to transform the unique assets, skills and stories of local communities into sustainable economic opportunities while connecting entrepreneurs and small businesses with the wider tourism value chain.

The Showcase also highlights the continued development of Saint Lucia's tourism sector. Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage, told delegates that the country's tourism strategy is focused not only on increasing visitor numbers, but also on ensuring that tourism generates greater opportunities for Saint Lucians.

According to figures presented during the opening, total visitor arrivals increased 6% year-to-date through July, while stay-over arrivals rose 2.1%. Cruise arrivals increased 15% and yachting arrivals 67%. The United States market was up 3.4%, Canada 20.3% and the Caribbean 4.5%. The United Kingdom and Europe each recorded a 4% increase in July.

Hilaire also pointed to continued investment in infrastructure, airlift, tourism products, marketing and new experiences as part of the country's efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in an evolving global tourism market.

The expansion of the tourism offering includes new and developing products such as Sapphire Sands Villas, the wellness-focused LifeCo offering and the planned Dreams development in the south of the island.

The Showcase is also placing particular emphasis on emerging source markets, with Latin America represented for the first time at the event, while Guyana was identified as another market with significant potential. At the same time, Saint Lucia is seeking to strengthen relationships with established markets across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and the wider Caribbean.

For Richard Moss, Director of Global Sales at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, the objective is to connect international buyers with new resorts, experiences and business opportunities while encouraging them to return to their markets with a deeper understanding of what Saint Lucia can offer.

The event also takes place following the launch of Saint Lucia's partnership with Arsenal Football Club as the destination's Official Destination Partner for the 2026/27 season, providing the island with a new international platform for destination visibility and storytelling.

Over the course of the Showcase, international buyers, travel professionals and media representatives are participating in business meetings, destination experiences, community visits and cultural engagements designed to deepen their understanding of Saint Lucia and identify new opportunities for partnership.

Through the inaugural Showcase International, Saint Lucia is presenting itself not simply as a Caribbean destination to visit, but as a place to experience, connect with and discover through its people and communities — while creating new opportunities for international travel partners to sell the destination in fresh and meaningful ways.
