The World Tourism Day will be celebrated at FIT with the presence of Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais
On September 27, the Feria Internacional de Turismo de América Latina (FIT) will open its doors with a special event: the celebration of World Tourism Day on an international scale, with the presence of Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary General-elect of UNWTO, alongside the main authorities of the sector.
For four days, FIT will offer the public and tourism professionals the opportunity to discover the tourist attractions of more than 50 countries around the world as well as those of all Argentine provinces. In this edition, Portugal will be the guest country of honor, strengthening the ties between the Argentine tourism industry and international destinations.
Andrés Deyá, president of FIT and of the Argentine Federation of Associations of Travel and Tourism Companies (FAEVYT), emphasized the importance of this gathering:
“Celebrating World Tourism Day within FIT is of enormous relevance for the entire sector. Our fair consolidates itself year after year as an essential meeting point where Argentine tourism is showcased to the world, generating growth opportunities for every province and every company in the country. This is a space that reflects the strength of the tourism industry and the joint work we carry out to continue promoting its development. Having the presence of Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary General-elect of UNWTO, and celebrating World Tourism Day together highlights the central importance of our Fair in the global tourism calendar.”
For his part, Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports of Argentina, highlighted:
“Tourism is a driver of global growth and a generator of opportunities in every corner of our country and the world. It has a unique power: to drive positive changes economically, socially, and culturally. Innovation is essential to transform the sector: the use of artificial intelligence and technology can create more efficient experiences that add value to destinations. Today is the moment to add value to Argentine tourism. What we build together will be a legacy that lasts for generations to come.”
The opening of FIT 2025 will thus take place in a unique setting, celebrating the transformative power of tourism and reaffirming Argentina’s role as host of one of the most prominent events in the global tourism calendar.
