Royal Caribbean Begins Construction of the Fourth Icon Class Ship
Royal Caribbean marked another milestone in the cruise industry with the start of construction for its fourth Icon Class ship. The keel-laying ceremony took place at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, where the first steel block was lowered onto a bed of newly minted coins, following a long-standing maritime tradition symbolizing good fortune.
This new vessel, whose name has yet to be announced, will join the ranks of the Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, and Legend of the Seas, expanding the groundbreaking Icon Class lineup that has redefined family vacations at sea.
The construction will continue over the next two years, with the ship scheduled to make its debut in 2027. As part of Royal Caribbean’s bold vision, the new Icon Class ship will deliver an unmatched mix of adrenaline-pumping thrills, relaxing escapes, diverse dining and drinking options, and world-class entertainment for guests of all ages.
With this achievement, Royal Caribbean reinforces its leadership in cruise innovation and its commitment to delivering unforgettable vacation experiences for travelers worldwide.
