Fort Lauderdale, August 27, 2025 – Lionel Messi made a dazzling return for Inter Miami, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory over Orlando City SC in the “Clásico del Sol” to book a spot in the 2025 Leagues Cup final.

Javier Mascherano’s side fell behind just before halftime, but Messi equalized from the penalty spot in the 77th minute and put Miami ahead with a brilliant strike in the 88th. Telasco Segovia sealed the win with a late goal.

Back from a minor muscle injury, Messi proved decisive once again and will now join Argentina’s national team ahead of the September World Cup qualifiers.
