Fort Lauderdale at IPW 2025: The Diplomat Beach Resort Announces Full Renovation and Focus on the Latin American Market

Chicago, USA – At IPW 2025, the premier U.S. travel trade show, we spoke with Melinda Maldonado, Director of International and Leisure Sales at The Diplomat Beach Resort, in the vibrant Visit Lauderdale booth. The iconic oceanfront hotel, located in Hollywood, Florida, within the greater Fort Lauderdale area, is undergoing a major transformation.

During the interview, Maldonado revealed a key update:

“We’re completely renovating the hotel, and starting in January, The Diplomat will focus more heavily on the corporate segment—while still embracing leisure and international tourism. Our goal is to offer personalized experiences and tailored packages for groups and events.”

Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, The Diplomat positions itself as a premier beachfront destination with world-class infrastructure, ideal for both business travelers and families alike.

The resort features 1,000 rooms with ocean or city views, a luxury spa, two oceanfront pools, direct beach access, family-friendly programs, bike rentals, and renowned dining options. Maldonado also highlighted the property’s three-story convention center, making it a strategic location for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events.

When asked about the Latin American market, Maldonado was clear:

Argentina is our number one market in the region. Argentine travelers already know Hollywood Beach—they love the peaceful atmosphere, proximity to shopping, and the more relaxed alternative to Miami. We’re also working with Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil, and we aim to continue growing in those countries.”

With its renovation and a renewed focus on personalized hospitality, The Diplomat Beach Resort is reaffirming its status as one of South Florida’s luxury landmarks.

“We want Latin American travelers to feel right at home. And we look forward to welcoming them soon to experience everything new we have to offer,” Maldonado concluded.
