Chicago, USA – June 16, 2025. On the opening day of IPW 2025, the leading inbound tourism event in the United States, international media outlets ABC Mundial and Vivir de Viaje formalized an editorial and commercial alliance aimed at amplifying their journalistic strengths and achieving greater global impact among both B2B and consumer audiences.

The agreement was signed during a meeting that brought together Henning Kretschmer, Director of Vivir de Viaje; Karina Giorgenello, CEO of ABC Mundial; and Pablo Pla, Editor-in-Chief of the international outlet. In a climate of enthusiasm and shared vision, the leaders agreed that collaboration and joint efforts are key to delivering more intense, effective, and sustainable results in today’s global tourism landscape.

“By combining talent, experience, and audiences, achievements not only multiply — they intensify. This alliance is a real commitment to synergy, joint growth, and international projection,” said Karina Giorgenello, who also emphasized that the agreement positions ABC Mundial as a strategic partner for leading media outlets across Latin America.

Henning Kretschmer added: “At IPW, we sealed this alliance because we share the same passion for tourism and high-quality journalism. Our win-win principle guides this vision: together, we can go further, with more impact and credibility.”

A Shared Vision: Expanding Audiences and Creating Value

The alliance, formalized at IPW Chicago 2025, includes cross-coverage of events, joint content production, shared news distribution, and multichannel promotional initiatives, as well as the development of special editorial features and integrated campaigns.

Both media outlets aim to reach complementary audiences — from frequent travelers to tourism industry decision-makers, including agencies, DMCs, hotel chains, airlines, official tourism bodies, and emerging destinations.

Their joint participation at IPW marks the first step in a new phase that will include multilingual content, partnerships with institutional stakeholders, and stronger presence at international tourism fairs.

“Our goal is to share newsrooms, sources, and efforts — raising the voice of responsible and innovative tourism. We’re convinced the future is collaborative,” said Pablo Pla, Editor-in-Chief of ABC Mundial.

Experienced Media with International Reach

With over 20 years of publishing history, Vivir de Viaje is a leading magazine in Central America, with a continent-wide readership and an editorial focus on new trends, destinations, and travel experiences.

ABC Mundial, based in Argentina and with correspondents in Colombia, Spain, Italy, India, and Mexico, publishes a specialized news bulletin in both Spanish and English for a B2B audience of industry leaders, government authorities, and international tourism professionals.

Both outlets bring extensive experience covering international fairs, fam trips, trade missions, and institutional events — a solid foundation for building a powerful regional and global alliance.

Greater Visibility for Brands, Destinations, and Content

This alliance will also maximize brand exposure for media partners, through wider geographic reach, stronger digital presence, and joint campaigns that enhance engagement with professional and general audiences.

In addition, the agreement includes exploring new editorial formats and integrating digital tools and AI to enhance reader experience and improve audience targeting.

By signing this agreement at the heart of IPW 2025 in Chicago, ABC Mundial and Vivir de Viaje take a bold step toward stronger, more collaborative, and future-focused tourism journalism.

This new phase finds ABC Mundial expanding in Colombia with a recently inaugurated office led by journalist Raúl Zapata, while Vivir de Viaje continues to strengthen its leadership in Central America through impactful regional editorial projects.
