Chicago, USA – June 2025. At the heart of the bustling exhibit floor of McCormick Place, the venue hosting IPW 2025, the premier inbound tourism trade show in the United States, ABC MUNDIAL sat down for an exclusive interview with Kristen Reynolds, President and CEO of Choose Chicago, at the destination’s official booth.

Her opening statement was simple yet powerful:

“Chicago is a wonderful city, ready to welcome you.”

With that spirit of hospitality, Reynolds introduced the city’s bold new vision for global tourism and presented the recently launched marketing campaign: “Never Done. Never Outdone.”

A new chapter for a city always on the move

“We just launched our brand-new marketing campaign, and we’re living it here at IPW,” Reynolds explained. “We want to show the world exactly who we are.”

The campaign reflects over a year of strategic brand work, including more than 300 community and industry listening sessions, focus groups, sentiment surveys, and brand showcases. It aims to position Chicago as a global destination for leisure, business, and cultural travel.

“This campaign is rooted in the soul of Chicago,” Reynolds said. “It captures our resilience, innovation, and constant evolution.”

A global platform for international growth

IPW is more than a trade show — it’s a catalyst for future tourism. Reynolds emphasized the event’s economic impact:

“This show secures nearly $5.5 billion in future travel business. Hosting it here gives us the chance to showcase everything Chicago has to offer — and build lasting connections with markets across Europe, Canada, and beyond.”

She also highlighted the importance of international tourism:

“Over 2 million international visitors came to Chicago last year. Growing that number is essential. Bringing the world to our city through events like IPW is central to our long-term strategy.”

A city of 77 neighborhoods – and infinite experiences

Reynolds was keen to underscore the depth of Chicago’s identity:

“Chicago is made up of 77 neighborhoods, each with its own flavor and character. Diversity and authenticity are embedded in our DNA.”

Standing before colorful murals by local artists decorating the booth, she pointed out:

“From our culinary scene to public art, music, and festivals — what you see here reflects who we truly are. And we’re proud to invite the world to experience it firsthand.”

A warm welcome for Latin American travelers

Reynolds also spoke of the strong cultural and economic ties with Latin America:

“The Latin American market is critical to Chicago. We have a vibrant Latin community in neighborhoods like Little Village, where the culture is woven into every street, storefront, and local event.”
“Welcoming travelers from Latin America not only strengthens our international presence — it supports small businesses and neighborhood economies across the city.”

A city ready for the world

As IPW 2025 showcases Chicago to delegates from over 70 countries, Reynolds closed the conversation with a message of inclusivity and optimism:

“We want the world to know that in Chicago, you are welcome. And when you arrive, you’ll find a city full of energy, opportunity, and people who are ready to welcome you with open arms.”

With its ambitious new campaign and global outlook, Chicago is ready to lead the future of urban tourism.
