Argentina: The U.S. Embassy Celebrated Independence Day at Palacio Bosch
Buenos Aires - In a night filled with vibrant colors and celebration, the United States Embassy commemorated the 248th anniversary of American Independence at the historic Palacio Bosch. More than 1,500 distinguished guests, including leaders from the public and private sectors, as well as personalities from the sciences, arts, and entertainment, gathered to celebrate this significant event.
In his speech, Ambassador Marc R. Stanley highlighted the strong bonds and mutual admiration between the United States and Argentina. "Throughout 201 years of presidents, chancellors, and ambassadors, regardless of which party controlled the White House, the Casa Rosada, or the congresses, our relationship progressed and grew thanks to our democratic values and institutions," Stanley stated. He also emphasized the long history of collaboration between the two nations and stressed that they have now entered the third century of their bilateral relations.
Stanley emphasized the importance of continuing to work together to build a common history and ensure a more prosperous future for both countries. "Let us continue working together, building our common history, and ensuring a more prosperous future for Argentina and the United States," he declared. The ambassador also quoted President Joe Biden, who said, "My life has taught me to embrace freedom and democracy. And a future based on the core values that define the United States: honesty, decency, dignity, equality. That everyone has a chance. No place for hate."
The event, themed "Iconic USA," paid tribute to the icons and symbols that represent the United States, highlighting pioneers, innovators, and champions of justice. The celebration not only commemorated the historical significance of Independence Day but also reinforced the enduring bond between the United States and Argentina, paving the way for deeper mutual understanding and commitment.
In a gesture of gratitude, Stanley recognized several leaders who have strengthened the relationship between the two countries during his time in Argentina, mentioning Chief of Staff Juan Manzur, Nicolás Posse, and Guillermo Francos; Foreign Ministers Santiago Cafiero and Diana Mondino; and Ambassadors Jorge Argüello and Gerardo Werthein.
"We all have the same mission: to work together to serve the people of our countries," said Stanley, also thanking the embassy's friends and collaborators for their support and dedication. "If my time in Argentina and our bilateral relationship is so much more special, it is thanks to all of you."
The ambassador concluded his speech with a special thanks to the event sponsors, whose support made the magical celebration possible. With an enthusiastic "Let's go, United States! Let's go, Argentina!", Stanley celebrated the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, wishing everyone a happy Independence Day.
