Fort Lauderdale, Florida — After a historic victory that thrilled their fans worldwide, the Florida Panthers are preparing to celebrate their first championship in franchise history in grand style. The ice hockey team announced that they will hold their Championship Celebration next Sunday, June 30, at 11 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale.

The parade will start at the intersection of A1A and Riomar Street, traveling along A1A until it ends at SE 5th Street. The celebration will continue with a rally at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, in front of the Maren Hotel.

The Panthers secured their title by defeating the Edmonton Oilers with a close score of 2-1 in the seventh and decisive game of the Stanley Cup Final, held at Amerant Bank Arena on Monday, June 24. Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart were the heroes of the day, scoring the goals that secured the victory for the Panthers.

"It's been a long chase for this," expressed an emotional Florida coach, Paul Maurice. "It's perfectly in the Florida Panthers way: nothing comes easy for us."

The Oilers' comeback, managing to tie the series after being down 3-0, was not enough to stop the momentum of the Florida team on their home turf. Verhaeghe opened the scoring at four minutes and 27 seconds of the first period, followed by Janmark’s equalizer for the Oilers. However, it was Reinhart who sealed the victory with a goal in the second period, unleashing euphoria at the Amerant Bank Arena and among the Panthers' fan community.

The news of the parade has not only excited the team’s supporters but has also received recognition and congratulations from Visit Lauderdale, which considers that events like this not only strengthen community spirit but also attract tourism to the region.

Thousands of fans are expected to flock to Fort Lauderdale to celebrate this historic milestone for the Florida Panthers and sports in the state of Florida alongside their idols.
