The Icon of the Seas, with its debut scheduled for January 2024, will set sail from Miami, offering 7-day itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

In a press conference held in Buenos Aires, Royal Caribbean's Vice President International, Bert Hernández, and Vice President Associate for Latin America and the Caribbean, Alberto Muñoz, unveiled exciting updates about the company and its future plans. They highlighted the exponential growth in cruise tourism among Argentine passengers, with an increase of over 100% compared to 2022, attributing this success to Royal Caribbean's attractive value proposition.

The Icon of the Seas, with its debut scheduled for January 2024, will set sail from Miami, offering 7-day itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. This extraordinary ship not only marks a new era for the company but also establishes a new standard in the industry, promising to change the way we cruise forever.

Designed to revolutionize the cruise experience, the Icon of the Seas offers travelers an unparalleled array of dining, drinking, and entertainment options, many of which will be included in the cruise fare. With its wide range of activities and services, the ship caters to all types of vacationers, from young families to adults seeking a more exclusive experience.

Featuring 20 decks and eight themed neighborhoods, each with its own unique essence and appeal, the Icon of the Seas positions itself as a true floating destination. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore a variety of atmospheres and enjoy personalized experiences according to their preferences.

Alberto Muñoz, VP Associate for Latin America and the Caribbean, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: "The Icon of the Seas is not just a new ship; it represents an entirely new class of ship that will truly revolutionize the way we cruise. It will debut in January 2024, sailing from Miami and offering 7-day itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. This ship will change everything."

The ship also stands out for its wide variety of accommodations. With a total of 28 types of cabins, including 14 that are completely new to the industry, the Icon of the Seas offers options to meet the needs and preferences of every passenger.

As part of the company's commitment to sustainability, the Icon of the Seas will be the first Royal Caribbean International ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel cell technology, furthering its vision for a clean energy future and reducing its environmental impact.

This exciting ship will sail on 7-night cruises in the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Miami year-round, with a guaranteed visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's award-winning private island destination, on each sailing.

The company invites all travelers to embark on a unique and extraordinary experience aboard the Icon of the Seas, where luxury, fun, and innovation come together to create unforgettable memories.

Caribbean Cruises without the Need for a Visa

Alberto Muñoz also highlighted one of the most attractive aspects for travelers: the possibility of embarking on Caribbean cruises without the need for a visa to the United States. The Rhapsody of the Seas will set sail from Panama starting on December 2, following the famous ABC itinerary (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) with a stop in Cartagena, where no US visa will be required. Additionally, passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy a deluxe beverage package included in the fare.

Regarding Argentine travelers, Alberto Muñoz stated: "The number of Argentine passengers sailing in comparison to 2022 has grown by more than 100%, and I attribute this to Royal Caribbean's product value proposition."

Utopia of the Seas - Short Cruises from Port Canaveral

The company also announced the launch of the Utopia of the Seas, a ship designed to offer complete weekend getaways starting in June 2024. This ship will operate short cruises of three or four nights, departing from Port Canaveral, and will be the newest and most advanced member of the fleet.

With a total of 28 types of accommodations, including more categories for families and designs with ocean views, the Utopia of the Seas aims to provide a unique and comfortable experience for group travelers. The company emphasizes that extensive time has been dedicated to "designing the perfect home base" for this innovative cruise.

Royal Caribbean's Value Proposition

Regarding the growth of cruise tourism among Argentine travelers, Bert Hernández emphasized the advantage of Royal Caribbean's value proposition over other travel options. He pointed out that cruising for 7 days, with all-inclusive features, proves to be more attractive in terms of cost-benefit compared to staying in a hotel for the same period. He highlighted the diversity of activities and services offered onboard, making the experience truly unforgettable.

Tips for Future Travelers

Finally, the company advised those interested in booking cruises at more accessible prices to make early decisions. Booking in advance will provide access to better rates and greater cabin availability. Additionally, pre-purchasing WiFi and beverage packages will result in more economical prices before embarking, ensuring a pleasant and worry-free experience onboard.

With these exciting updates and the promise of an unparalleled experience, Royal Caribbean continues to consolidate its position as a leader in the cruise industry, attracting more passengers, including enthusiastic Argentine travelers.
