Shah Rukh Khan's birthday is an annual ritual with fans crowding outside his Bandra bungalow, Mannat. They wait for a glimpse of the superstar to wish him, laden with gifts and big posters. He blows kisses, waves to them and strikes his trademark arms-stretched pose. Every year on his birthday, the streets leading up to Mannat would be chock-a-block with police stationed for security.
On Shah Rukh Khan's 57th birthday on November 2, the crowd was even bigger as the superstar made another appearance at midnight after a gap of two years.
Fans from all over queued up at Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow on November 2 midnight to wish him on his birthday. Many even carried sweets, gifts and huge posters. A little later, SRK made sure not to leave his fans dissapointed as he made an appearance on his balcony along with AbRam. As fans cheered loudly and sang the birthday song, SRK waved back and threw some kisses. Not only that, he also opened his arms to strike his signature pose.

It was, however, his brilliant portrayal of the anti-hero in Baazigar and Darr that made the audience take note of him. While these films established him as a bankable name, the best was yet to come.
