The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, and two others in the Mumbai cruise drug bust case.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been placed under arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Aryan, along with two others, was apprehended from the Empress ship off the coast of Mumbai on Sunday.

Aryan Khan was placed under arrest on the basis of evidence gathered against him during the investigation, officials said. Besides Aryan Khan, two others - Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant - have also been arrested.

They have been booked under sections 8(c), 2 (b), 27 and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The three will be produced in the Magistrate's court in Mumbai around 7 pm on Sunday.

Likely to represent Aryan Khan, advocate Satish Maneshinde was seen arriving at the Magistrate's court along with his team.

The three were taken for medical examination and brought back to the NCB office in Mumbai on Sunday.

In his written statement, Aryan Khan has denied the purchase of drugs.

The statements of another five suspects - Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker and Gomit Chopra - are also being recorded, after which they are likely to be placed under arrest.

NCB sources said all electronic gadgets of Aryan Khan and the other accused were seized and scanned by the authorities to check for any indication of their involvement in the possession or consumption of drugs.

Aryan Khan is Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's eldest son. The couple also have a daughter, Suhana Khan, and another son, AbRam.

The NCB has also summoned six of the organisers who had planned the cruise party. Kashiff Khan, managing director of FTV India, is also under scanner and NCB has reached out to him. The event was organised under the supervision of Kashiff Khan.

A team of the NCB has been sent to nab the drug peddler who supplied drugs to the cruise ship party. The name of a drug peddler came to light during the interrogation of those who were detained. The NCB is also looking for a person named Gopal Anand. Gopal Anand had a major role in organising the party on the ship.

The Director-General (DG) of NCB said detailed information on the incident would be sent to the Shipping Corporation of India and the shipping ministry. He said the NCB had received information about the rave party about 15 days ago.

"We had received very confidential information 15 days ago about the drugs party on the ship after which we carried out this operation. We have got evidence against those who have been detained. People who organised this party on the ship will have to face an inquiry, they cannot escape the investigation," DG NCB said.

In a statement, NCB said drugs like ecstasy, cocaine, mephedrone and charas were recovered from the cruise and a case had been registered. The agency said eight people, including two women, were apprehended and their role was being investigated.

"On the basis of specific information, the officials of NCB, Mumbai, conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise that was bound from Mumbai to Goa on October 2. During the operation, all suspects, as per the information, were searched and various drugs like MDMA/ecstasy, cocaine, MD (mephedrone) and charas were recovered. NCB has registered crime no. Cr 94/21 in this matter. Further investigation is underway," the NCB said.
