The NCB, probing the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, is keeping a close watch on at least 5 drug peddlers operating out of Mumbai, all of whom have been traced back to Rhea Chakraborty's brother, Showik.
Sushant Singh Rajput death case has taken a critical turn with a drug peddling angle taking the centre stage. A week ago, India Today had accessed independent WhatsApp chats between Rhea Chakraborty and Shruti Modi and then with Jaya Saha, which revealed that Rhea, Sushant, her brother Showik and several others in their circle were into drugs. There was even a WhatsApp group where consumption and procurement of "doobies" and "joints" were discussed. Since the Narcotics Contol Bureau (NCB) took charge of this leg of the investigation, names of several drug peddlers operating in Mumbai have been thrown up. Of them, 5 are under the NCB's scanner, and they've all been traced back to Rhea's brother, Showik. They are - Zaid Vilatra, Kaizan Ebrahim, Basit Parihar, Abbas Lakhani and Karan Arora. WhatsApp chats procured by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which were then passed on to the NCB for further probe, have shown Showik was in constant contact with at least 3 of them.
Hotelier Gaurav Arya's name had also appeared in several of these chats, following which, the ED grilled Arya.
