With around 130 Taiwanese companies represented at the Milan exhibition, TAITRA is promoting the Taiwan Flagship Showcase, highlighting the country's capabilities in motorcycles, electric mobility, precision components and smart technologies. In an interview with ABC Mundial, Emilia Shih discussed the goals of Taiwan's participation and the importance of strengthening ties with the European motorcycle industry.

MILAN, Italy. – Taiwan is seeking to strengthen its position in the global two-wheeler industry and expand its business opportunities across Europe. At EICMA 2026, the international motorcycle exhibition taking place at Fiera Milano Rho, the Asian economy is presenting its industrial and technological capabilities through a showcase that goes far beyond motorcycles. Its offering includes electric mobility, electronics, smart safety systems, tires and precision components.

Around 130 Taiwanese companies connected to the sector are represented at the exhibition. The centerpiece of the country's presence is the Taiwan Flagship Showcase, organized by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) at Hall 22, Stand S20. The dedicated area features technologies from ten companies, seven of which have received Taiwan Excellence recognition for achievements in research and development, design, quality and marketing.

During ABC Mundial's coverage in Milan, we spoke with Emilia Shih, Executive Director of the Industry and Marketing Department at TAITRA, about the objectives of Taiwan's participation, its relationship with European manufacturers, the country's competitive potential in the European market and the opportunities for mutual learning between the two industries.

The central message of the showcase is captured in the theme "Smart × Green Mobility", which brings together technology, innovation and more efficient mobility solutions to address the evolving needs of the international market.

From maxi-scooters to electric mobility

Among the featured products is the SYM TTLBT, a 508cc touring maxi-scooter equipped with cruise control and multiple riding modes. The display also includes the KYMCO CV3, a three-wheeled scooter designed to provide enhanced stability and riding comfort, and the AEONTEK STR X 300, a sport-touring platform developed to meet the requirements of different international markets.

Smart technologies are another key part of Taiwan's presentation. JARVISH is showcasing connected helmet solutions, while JET Optoelectronics and Orange Electronic are presenting riding-recording technologies and tire-pressure monitoring systems.

One of the most distinctive developments is the ADATA POWER USD-01, an electric three-wheeled commercial vehicle designed for urban deliveries. Its temperature-controlled cargo compartment can operate in refrigerated and frozen modes, making it suitable for transporting fresh food, frozen products and pharmaceuticals.

The showcase also features BESV electric bicycles, KENDA adventure tires and lightweight precision components from MOS MOTOR.

Europe as a strategic market

Taiwan's presence at EICMA also has a clear commercial dimension. According to information provided by TAITRA, Italy became Taiwan's third-largest export market for complete motorcycles in 2025, with exports increasing by 57.26% year over year.

The goal is to use the exhibition as a platform to connect manufacturers, suppliers and international buyers, develop business contacts and establish new partnerships. Taiwan aims to demonstrate that it has an integrated and competitive industrial supply chain capable of serving different segments of the European market.

Its participation in Milan therefore represents an opportunity to highlight the evolution of an industry that combines manufacturing experience, technological development and export capabilities. Through TAITRA and its engagement with international industry leaders, Taiwan is seeking greater recognition as a strategic partner in the future of two- and three-wheeled mobility.
