Norwegian Cruise Line Unveils First Look at Great Tides Waterpark Ahead of September Grand Opening
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled the first official images of Great Tides Waterpark, the highly anticipated attraction opening at Great Stirrup Cay, the company's private island in The Bahamas.
Scheduled to officially open on September 4, 2026, the new attraction represents one of Norwegian Cruise Line's largest investments in enhancing its exclusive island experience.
Covering nearly six acres, Great Tides Waterpark will feature 19 thrilling waterslides, interactive family attractions, immersive experiences, and new dining concepts designed to appeal to guests of all ages.
Among its signature attractions is The Great Slide, the Caribbean's only four-person body slide, while Cliffside Cove will introduce the cruise industry's first cliff jumps, adding a new level of adventure to private island experiences.
Families will enjoy Splash Cay, an expansive splash zone designed specifically for children, while The Wandering River will feature the industry's first immersive river tunnel experience.
New Dining Experiences
Guests can also enjoy several new culinary venues:
- Low Tide Smoke – slow-smoked barbecue specialties.
- Catch of the Cay – fresh seafood favorites.
- Tidal Treats – handcrafted ice cream and signature desserts.
Guests sailing with NCL's Free at Sea unlimited beverage package will also enjoy included drinks while visiting Great Stirrup Cay.
A New Era for Great Stirrup Cay
The waterpark is part of a broader transformation of the island, which now features a brand-new dual-berth pier allowing ships to dock directly and giving guests more time to enjoy the destination.
Visitors can also book private cabanas inside the waterpark, relax at the adults-only Vibe Shore Club, or enjoy premium amenities at Silver Cove, including an infinity pool, private beach, luxury villas and spa.
The official grand opening celebration will take place aboard Norwegian Luna during its seven-day Caribbean voyage departing August 29, 2026.
With Great Tides Waterpark, Norwegian Cruise Line continues to redefine the private island experience while offering guests one of the Caribbean's most exciting new destinations.
