"Chinese medicine practitioners in Taiwan have been actively developing a treatment method for COVID-19, using both Chinese and Western medicine approaches," Tsai said at an annual Chinese medicine forum.
Commenting on cross-strait relations during a national security meeting, the president said Taipei is always willing to push for meaningful cross-strait dialogue on the basis of equal footing "as long as Beijing is willing to resolve antagonisms."
The president's online campaign was posted with the hashtag #po一本你最近買的書challenge (post a book you recently bought challenge).
"We are grateful that for over past decades, the U.S. has always stood by its friend and partner, Taiwan," Tsai said in the video, which was posted on Taiwan's Office of the President website.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Tsai praised the work done by overseas Taiwanese in promoting business opportunities in Taiwan
A number of civic groups said in Taipei that President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) should be allowed to join the 2020 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' summit, which will be held virtually this year and hosted by Malaysia.
The president said that since taking office in 2016, her administration has made efforts to improve the working conditions and welfare of military servicemen.
