    In a televised address on Tuesday morning, prime minister Narendra Modi announced that India’s nationwide lockdown is to be extended till 3 May.
    Hundreds of migrant workers gathered at the Banda Station in Mumbai to go back to their native places as they thought that the nationwide lockdown was over. The national lockdown has been extended till May 3.

    The Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, has decided to extend a nationwide lockdown to tackle the spread of the coronavirus, the Delhi state’s chief minister said on Saturday, without saying how long the extension would be.

     Coronavirus cases in the country crossed 500 and one more death from the infection reported on Tuesday taking the toll to 9. Almost the entire country was in lockdown after the government imposed restrictions in 606 districts.
