    Lai made the remarks at an online event launched by Google to announce its 2020 Intelligent Taiwan project, in which the multinational company confirmed it had purchased six plots of land totaling 60,000 ping (1 ping = 3.305 square meters) in Yunlin County to build a data center.

  2. Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen names former Premier Lai as running mate

    The ruling Democrative Progressive Party is seeking re-election and an absolute majority in the legislature.  Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen has named as her running mate for 2020 elections a former prime minister who last year angered Beijing so badly with his support for the island’s formal independence that a major Chinese paper called for his arrest.
