Stacy Ritter Highlights Diversity and Growth of Greater Fort Lauderdale at IPW 2026 Opening
The traditional IPW 2026 Press Brunch officially kicked off media activities in Greater Fort Lauderdale with a welcoming message from Stacy Ritter, President and CEO of Visit Lauderdale, who emphasized the destination’s evolution, cultural diversity, and major investments transforming the region into one of the leading tourism hubs in the United States.
The gathering took place at The Fort, a modern sports and social complex in Fort Lauderdale, where journalists, producers, and media representatives from more than 70 countries participated in a morning of networking, gastronomy, and institutional presentations ahead of the official opening of IPW 2026.
“After three years of planning, we are delighted to welcome you,” Ritter said while addressing hundreds of international journalists. “Seeing so many journalists, editors, producers, and storytellers gathered here today is incredibly exciting for all of us at Visit Lauderdale.”
During her remarks, Ritter stressed that Greater Fort Lauderdale “is much more than beautiful beaches,” highlighting its more than 300 miles of navigable waterways, vibrant culinary scene, arts and culture offerings, and the destination’s accessibility.
“Within minutes, you can go from the airport to the beach, from the convention center to world-class dining, or from a luxury resort to an airboat ride in the Everglades,” she said.
The Visit Lauderdale CEO also emphasized Broward County’s multicultural identity.
“Broward County is home to 180 nations and residents speaking 147 languages. We are not afraid to say diverse and inclusive, and we will continue to lean into this,” Ritter stated.
She also encouraged attendees to explore the destination beyond traditional tourism circuits and enjoy the opening-night festivities planned on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
IPW 2026 takes place from May 17 to 21 in Greater Fort Lauderdale and brings together thousands of buyers, suppliers, and international media professionals at the largest inbound travel trade show in the United States.
