Grenada is preparing to launch the inaugural edition of its Flower & Garden Festival, a national celebration running from November 8 to 15, 2026, designed to showcase the island's natural beauty and cultural identity. Organized by the Grenada Tourism Authority together with the Flower Arrangers & Growers Association of Grenada (Pure Flowers) and a network of public and private partners, the festival blends floriculture, cuisine, wellness and culture into a single calendar of events.

More than blooms: a celebration of the island

Set among rainforests, waterfalls, historic estates and dramatic coastlines, the festival offers a full picture of Grenada — its people, traditions, creativity and biodiversity. Organizers describe it as an invitation to experience "the true spirit of the Spice of the Caribbean," a nod to the island's long-standing reputation as a producer of nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices.

The program features guided tours, curated experiences and a major flower show, with active participation from local growers, designers and communities, alongside opportunities for learning and collaboration open to the public.

Day-by-day schedule

The lineup is organized into four thematic segments:

• November 8 – Opening & Family Day: at Myristic Mountain, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring sunrise yoga, music and family-friendly nature activities.
• November 9–11 – Gardens & Discovery: curated garden and nature tours across the island, celebrating Grenada's tropical landscapes, spices, perfumes and medicinal plants.
• November 12 – Heritage & Industry: immersive cultural tours linking flowers to heritage, food and traditional healing practices.
• November 13–15 – Flower Show & Marketplace: a three-day showcase with floral exhibits, panels, awards and local artisans at the Grenada Trade Centre — the festival's flagship event.

Confirmed venues include gardens and estates such as Smithy's Garden, Myristic Mountain, Cocodee Natural Farm & Garden, The Tower Estate, 473 Orchids, and the historic Belmont Estate, also known for its chocolate factory.

National Beautification Competition

As part of the festival, the National Beautification Competition invites schools, communities and individuals across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique to transform neglected spaces into ornamental gardens. Co-organized with the 4-H Unit at the Ministry of Agriculture, the contest requires at least 90% of each site to feature ornamental plants and flowers, and judges entries on creativity, sustainability and community impact. Registration was free and closed on June 30.

Call for volunteers

The festival is also recruiting volunteers for guest welcome, accreditation, flower show support, workshops and general operations, with no prior experience required for most roles. Selected volunteers will receive orientation, official identification and, depending on their shift, branded apparel and refreshments. Registration remains open until September 30.
