Punta Cana continues strengthening its positioning as a sports tourism destination with the upcoming third edition of the Jungle Trail Race, to be held on Sunday, June 7 at 7:00 a.m. at Bávaro Adventure Park.

The event, organized by Punta Cana Running, has established itself as a pioneering concept in the Caribbean as the only trail running race held entirely within an adventure park, combining sport, nature, and tourism experience in a single format.

The competition will feature three race formats designed for different levels of participants: the 3K Forest Walk, the 6K Jungle Race, and the 12K Wild Jungle Race. Participation is limited to 500 runners, reinforcing the exclusivity of the event and the commitment to preserving the natural environment.

The course integrates paved sections, natural trails, and dense vegetation areas, offering an immersive experience that connects participants with the region’s biodiversity—one of Punta Cana’s most distinctive tourism assets.

Beyond the competitive aspect, organizers have designed a full experience for athletes and companions, including closing activities at the Cenote Chali area, where an “after running” gathering will take place aimed at enhancing the event’s hospitality offering.

From a sporting perspective, the Jungle Trail Race will also offer cash prizes for top finishers in both male and female categories for the 6K and 12K distances, attracting both local and international runners.

With participants from up to 19 nationalities in previous editions, the event continues to expand its global reach, positioning Punta Cana not only as a sun-and-beach destination but also as an emerging hub for sports and adventure tourism in the Caribbean.
