The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) strengthened the Caribbean destination’s presence in the UK market last week by participating in the Destinations: Holiday and Travel Show, one of Britain’s leading consumer travel exhibitions, held at Olympia London.

The event, which attracts around 50,000 visitors over four days, provided a key platform for ABTA to engage directly with UK travelers and industry professionals, promoting the twin-island nation as a premier Caribbean destination. The team showcased the 2026 on-island calendar, highlighting major events such as Carnival and Art Week, while also putting a strong spotlight on Antigua and Barbuda’s growing culinary offering.

ABTA was joined at the stand by hotel partners Elite Island Resorts and Azingo Hospitality, presenting the wide range of accommodation options available across the islands, from boutique properties to larger-scale resorts, and reinforcing the destination’s appeal to different travel segments.

A major highlight of the show was the appearance of Antiguan heritage chef Kareem Roberts on the “Taste The World” stage. Roberts promoted the upcoming Culinary Month 2026 and showcased the flavors, ingredients and traditions that define Antiguan cuisine. He conducted a live demonstration of tamarind balls, joined by British presenter and chef Andrew Dickens, who explored the cultural significance of the iconic treat. Visitors also enjoyed tastings at the stand and discovered Roberts’ newly released cookbook, Cassava and Cardamom.

“It is an incredible opportunity to share what Antigua and Barbuda has to offer through food. From our landscapes to our people, there is so much untapped potential, and we have only just begun to showcase the creativity, flavors and experiences that make our islands truly unique,” said Kareem Roberts.

Cherrie Osborne, Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority UK & Europe, подчеркó the importance of these events for destination branding. “Our presence at leading consumer events is essential for showcasing Antigua and Barbuda’s culture and heritage. By highlighting signature offerings and key events like Culinary Month 2026, we can show what sets our twin islands apart for travelers. Talented ambassadors like Kareem Roberts engage audiences and bring our heritage and stories to life,” she said.

With strong interest from visitors, the Destinations Travel Show once again positioned Antigua and Barbuda as a top-of-mind choice for UK travelers planning their 2026 holidays and beyond, combining beaches, culture and a distinctive culinary identity.
