Las Vegas casinos launch “At Par” program to attract Canadian visitors
Las Vegas, United States – Three downtown Las Vegas casinos have launched a new initiative aimed at attracting Canadian travelers by eliminating currency exchange concerns during their stay. Circa, The D and Golden Gate casinos are offering an “At Par” program that allows Canadian dollars to be treated as U.S. dollars across select gaming, hotel and beverage purchases through August 31.
Under the program, eligible Canadian guests will receive USD $1 in value for every CAD $1 spent, regardless of the daily exchange rate. The initiative comes at a time when the Canadian dollar remains significantly weaker than the U.S. dollar, trading at approximately 1.38 CAD per USD, and as Canadian travel to Las Vegas shows signs of decline.
According to casino representatives, the goal of the promotion is to provide immediate financial relief and simplify the visitor experience for Canadians. The program includes up to CAD $500 in slot promotional play at full U.S. dollar value, “At Par” hotel rates applied at check-in, and participation from selected beverage venues, including BarCanada at The D, Overhang at Circa, and Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate.
Derek Stevens, owner and CEO of the three properties, highlighted the personal motivation behind the initiative, citing his longstanding connection to Canada through his upbringing near the U.S.-Canada border. He emphasized that the program is designed to remove barriers and ensure Canadian visitors feel welcome without the stress of exchange rates or complex conditions.
To redeem the offer, guests must present a valid Canadian passport or government-issued identification. Additional details are available on the official Circa Las Vegas website.
