FITUR 2026 closes with strong boost to global tourism and reinforces its international leadership
Madrid, January 25, 2026.- The International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2026) has successfully closed in Madrid, reaffirming its position as a global benchmark for the tourism industry and a key economic driver for the city. Organised by IFEMA MADRID, the event attracted more than 255,000 visitors and generated an estimated €505 million economic impact.
Over five days, FITUR brought together over 10,000 companies from 161 countries, including 111 with official representation, consolidating growth in international exhibitors and professional attendance. The results reflect the strong momentum of global tourism, following a record year in 2025 with over 1.5 billion international tourist arrivals, according to UN Tourism.
With a comprehensive showcase focused on business, knowledge and innovation, FITUR 2026 once again confirmed its global leadership. Preparations are already underway for FITUR 2027, with Puerto Rico announced as Partner Country.
