Fort Lauderdale, Florida.Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, marking the brand’s return to South Florida after more than two decades and establishing a new landmark within the expanded Broward County Convention Center District.

Strategically located along the Intracoastal Waterway, the new hotel features 801 guest rooms, including 82 suites, and offers a blend of upscale accommodations, resort-style amenities and extensive facilities for meetings and events. The property is directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center and is conveniently situated near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Port Everglades Cruise Terminal, and the region’s renowned beaches.

Designed to support large-scale conventions and high-profile events, the hotel offers more than 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the 30,000-square-foot Waterway Ballroom, the largest ballroom in Greater Fort Lauderdale, as well as the 15,000-square-foot Port Everglades Ballroom and 47 additional meeting rooms.

Dining is a central element of the guest experience, led by Executive Chef Cristian Mosquera. The hotel features seven dining venues, including Fair Ketch, a sports bar with a Topgolf Swing Suite; Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, showcasing coastal cuisine with Caribbean influences; Ibis Sky Lounge, Hidden Key, Tide Coastal Kitchen, and Leeward Market, offering a diverse culinary lineup for both guests and locals.

Wellness and leisure amenities include the Mokara Spa, spanning more than 8,500 square feet with eight treatment rooms, a Hammam, steam room and relaxation lounge, along with a state-of-the-art fitness center. The expansive pool deck provides sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway, the Atlantic Ocean and Fort Lauderdale’s skyline.

The opening of Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is the result of a collaborative effort among Omni Hotels & Resorts, Broward County, Visit Lauderdale, and developer Matthews Southwest. The project is expected to generate over $450 million in economic impact and create more than 3,000 jobs for the local economy.

“Today’s opening marks an exciting new chapter for Broward County and Omni,” said Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts, acknowledging the support of the Broward County Board of Commissioners and project partners.

Gayla Guyse, General Manager of Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, emphasized the property’s strategic importance, noting that its waterfront location, premium amenities and seamless connection to the convention center position it as a premier global destination for meetings, conventions and leisure travel.

Architecturally designed by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects, the hotel draws inspiration from Florida’s natural beauty and the historic journey of the Barefoot Mailmen, blending contemporary luxury with regional storytelling. With its scale, design and integrated convention facilities, Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is poised to play a central role in the future of tourism, meetings and economic development in Greater Fort Lauderdale.
