Royal Caribbean unveiled its new cruise ship Star of the Seas
With an unforgettable ceremony, Royal Caribbean officially introduced Star of the Seas, the second ship of its groundbreaking Icon Class, marking a new chapter in the history of family vacations at sea.
The naming celebration took place at the ship’s iconic AquaTheater, where astronaut and payload specialist Kellie Gerardi was chosen as the ship’s godmother, granting protection to the crew and to the millions of future travelers who will enjoy this giant of the seas.
“A journey on Star is the perfect combination of exploration and quality family time,” said Gerardi, thrilled to sponsor a ship that promises to transform the cruising experience.

Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, emphasized that Star of the Seas brings together the best of innovation, exclusive experiences, and the most sought-after destinations. Meanwhile, Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, described it as “the boldest family vacation in history.”
