With preparations underway to host IPW 2025, Nucci expressed tremendous excitement, highlighting the city's evolution since last hosting the event in 2014.
"Chicago is ready to welcome the world for IPW 2025. So much has happened in the city since the last time we hosted. We're known for our amazing museums, food, music, and the stunning Lakefront, but Chicago continues to innovate every year," Nucci exclaimed.
Reflecting on Chicago's international appeal, Nucci emphasized the city's diverse neighborhoods, likening a visit to traversing the globe. "Chicago is truly an international city. You can explore our neighborhoods and feel like you're traveling around the world. Last year, we welcomed approximately 53 million visitors, with a significant portion being international travelers."
Discussing the economic impact of tourism, Nucci underscored its significance to the city's economy. "Tourism plays a vital role in Chicago's economy. From hotels to restaurants, thousands of people rely on tourism for their livelihood. It's not just about increased foot traffic in the summertime; tourism sustains us throughout the year."
When asked about the most attractive aspect of visiting Chicago, Nucci highlighted the city's versatility. "Chicago offers something for everyone. Whether you're staying in a five-star hotel, exploring our museums, or getting lost in our neighborhoods, there's an abundance of activities for individuals, families, and even solo travelers."
Providing a snapshot of Chicago's offerings, Nucci listed over 60 museums, more than 50 Michelin-star restaurants, and a vibrant sports scene. "Chicago is known for its accessibility, with elevated trains making it easy to navigate. And let's not forget our sports teams, including the Bears, Bulls, White Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks, and more.
