Salman Khan's plea has been rejected by Mumbai sessions court. The matter revolves around a land-related tiff between Salman Khan and his neighbour Ketan Kakkad.

Additional Sessions Judge Anil H Laddhad has rejected the notice of motion that actor Salman Khan had sought in his defamation suit against his neighbour, Ketan Kakkad. Ketan, an American citizen, owns a piece of land in Panvel since 1996 which is right next to Salman’s Arpita farms. The judge, while rejecting the interim relief on Wednesday, said "reasons to follow" which means that the written order with reasons would be given at a later date.

For the past many years, a tiff has ensued between Salman Khan and his neighbour, Ketan Kakkad. Ketan had given interviews to a blogger making several allegations against Salman. The video has been shared widely. Salman wanted the court to stop Ketan from defaming him further. He further requested that the viral videos shared on several social media platforms should be taken down.

Advocate Pradeep Gandhy representing Salman, pointed to hundreds of social media posts by Ketan, in which abusive languages were used. He would tag the Prime Minister and Home Minister while making defamatory tweets. Advocate Pradeep submitted that Ketan used abusive language. This is why, his social media account was suspended briefly and that, he is a habitual offender. Pradeep also added that through the use of innuendos, Ketan has been targeting Salman. It was also mentioned that Ketan had made baseless allegations against Salman which were not even within the realm of the property dispute between the two.

Ketan claimed that Salman has seized the plot of land allotted to him and it was allegedly cancelled by the forest department at the behest and in collusion with Salman. He also claimed that the entry and exit to his plot of land was illegally acquired and blocked by Salman by constructing a gate. Ketan alleged that Salman constructed an eco-friendly Ganesh Temple on the access road of his plot. Access to the same was allegedly blocked by Salman and that the temple is grabbed by Khan.

Ketan’s arguments were put forth in the court by advocates Abha Singh and Aditya Pratap who claimed that he has not been able to rightfully access his land since 2014. That was when he permanently came back to India from the United States to live a retired life due to the obstruction caused by Khan and his family.
