WTTC Announces Final Line-Up for its 24th Global Summit in Perth, Western Australia
Leaders from the World's Leading Travel & Tourism Businesses Set to Address Delegates
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has unveiled the impressive roster of speakers for its 24th Global Summit, slated to be held in Perth, Western Australia from October 8th to 10th. Headlining the event will be 68th U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and conservationist and TV personality Robert Irwin.
Secretary Kerry will engage in a fireside chat with Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, offering insights into navigating international politics, fostering alliances, and promoting international cooperation for a more resilient and sustainable future.
Robert Irwin, son of the renowned Steve Irwin, will share captivating anecdotes from his wilderness adventures, emphasizing the crucial role of Travel & Tourism in safeguarding and celebrating nature.
Themed "Ancient Land: New Perspectives," this year's Global Summit will shine a spotlight on Australia's rich cultural heritage and natural marvels, highlighting its strides in innovation and sustainable development.
Joining Julia Simpson and WTTC Chair Greg O'Hara, the Honorable Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia, will inaugurate the Global Summit on October 9th.
Prominent figures from across the globe will convene in Perth to drive discussions on fostering a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for the Travel & Tourism sector.
Distinguished speakers include Di Bain, Chair of Tourism Western Australia; Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel; Matt Goldberg, President & Group CEO of Tripadvisor; Jane Sun, Group CEO of Trip.com; Frank Marini, President & CEO of Railbookers Group; Jason Waters, CEO of Perth Airport; Kelly Craighead, President & CEO of CLIA; Francis Gatare, CEO of Rwanda Development Board; Christie Travers-Smith, Head of Retail and Travel EMEA Partnerships at Google, alongside numerous other global business leaders.
Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome such influential speakers to our Global Summit in the picturesque city of Perth. The summit will draw official government delegations from over 25 countries, including representatives from G20 economies such as Argentina, Australia, China, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. Additionally, delegates from Nigeria, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, and the UAE will participate, with Deputy Prime Ministers from the Bahamas and Fiji also in attendance.
A notable addition to this year's summit, the Investors' Nest, will feature university students from around the world pitching sustainable tourism ideas to investors in a format reminiscent of Shark Tank. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the Global Summit.
