CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates Vidarbha Investment Summit & Expo 2016 organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Nagpur. Theme of this 2 day Summit at Nagpur is ‘Invest in Maharashtra, Invest in Vidarbha’. Minister Subhash Desai was present too. CM spoke on land, water, power & transport facilities in Vidarbha & projects like food park, Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Corridor. Government is also working for overall development of Marathwada and every region of the State in a balanced way. Maharashtra has ₹68000 crore FDI in first 6 months, which is 50% of entire Nation. It shows the confidence & faith shown by investors in us, said CM.

The Vidarbha Investment Summit and Exposition 2016 opened with a promising note on the chilly Thursday morning at Hotel Le Meridien. The bigwigs from industries and top Government officials who congregated at the conference hall had done lot of homework to woo investment in Vidarbha. In the inaugural session, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, Maharashtra Government was closely working with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for industrial development of Vidarbha. Congratulating CII on creating a platform to bring investors together and showcase the investment potential of the Vidarbha region.

Vidarbha has immense potential and nothing could stop an idea and place whose time has come. “Vidarbha is a right place to invest, grow and expand with the focus of all people from industry, we will harp on the opportunity. CII has come out a film focusing the strength of Vidarbha. One of the biggest driver to invest here is that the Chief Minister is from Vidarbha,” he pointed out while underlining his passion. My commitment is to develop entire Maharashtra and state can not be developed without adequate development of backward regions of Vidarbha and Marathwada. “We need to put Vidarbha on global map,” he said.

Once GST gets rolled out, logistics in the entire country would be totally forwarded through Nagpur. “Logistics giants had approached me and we have identified place for logistics development on Amravati Road,” Fadnavis revealed. One of the biggest concern for industries was connectivity.
