"Wow, President Obama just landed in Cuba, a big deal, and Raul Castro wasn't even there to greet him. He greeted Pope and others. No respect", said Trump
As expected, GOP presidential candidates and other Republicans weren't happy with the news that Obama was heading to Cuba. As the news broke, front runner Donald Trump took to Twitter to slam the story, as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was quick to follow with his negative comments.
Trump accused Castro of not respecting the United States, while Cruz was even harder on the decision to meet in the country. Calling Obama's meeting in Cuba a "gaudy spectacle," he also warned that it could "legitimize" the current regime. While Obama has done his part to bring the two countries together, certain issues require that a Republican controlled Congress act in accordance to his wishes.
