The Production Company of the State seeks to import up to 100,000 barrels of light crude and condensates
Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) submitted to the United States Department of Commerce a proposed exchange of crude oil, to import up to 100,000 barrels per day, bringing the refining process is improved.
In a statement, the Production Company of the State points out that under this scheme "to 100 thousand barrels of light crude and condensates, to mix with ours and improve the process in Salamanca refinery, Tula and Salina Cruz" is imported.
In exchange, Mexico exported for processing heavy crude in US high conversion refineries coking, which does not represent an additional 803 thousand barrels were exported to that country over the past year commitment.
Among other benefits for Mexico, exchange lead to greater production of gasoline and diesel, as well as lower production and petroleum fuel oil with high sulfur content in the National Refining System, among others.
Pemex points out that so far continued negotiations with the US authorities on this proposal, presented last year, and these initiatives stem from the high integration of the company in the US market.
