Among the findings was determined that the potential homicidal aggression is very strong and is able to break violently, without control

Psychologists at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the University of Salamanca, Spain, developed a model of assessment and diagnosis of Mexican criminal personality, Amada reported Ampudia Rueda, project coordinator.

The project was carried out with a view to proposing a treatment that may help to reduce and control criminal behavior, in addition to paying the criminological knowledge to prevent the incidence of crime and reduce recidivism rates.

Ampudia Rueda said worked with inmates of social rehabilitation centers in the country and socio-demographic factors, family history, crime, danger level and attitude towards the institution were considered.

This scheme of assessment and diagnosis began a decade ago with the application and validation of different tests measuring 10 percent of those sentenced population centers in four states of Mexico (Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Zacatecas and Michoacán) with highest crime incidence.

"We evaluated approximately four thousand 500 inmates to determine level of dangerousness, recidivism, crime and other variables," he said.

For academic at the Faculty of Psychology (FP), one must be cautious in defining profiles, that can become a stigma.

However, he said some features: differentiation studies indicate that a murderer cognitive function is more affected than a kidnapper and that there is variation in the construction of aggression.

In the slayer this can occur for a direct drive; the potential of aggression is very strong and is able to break violently, without any control.

The kidnapper is more calculating, manipulative, has greater vision. One is exacerbated in open mode, the other also, but remains with a lower profile.

Meanwhile, the murderous women are more emotional, but also more explosive. Exaggerated manner assaulted because they have that potential.

"They can be verbal, but also very impulsive. You have intense cognitive impairment, extreme reaction after endured many years of aggression 'he said.

Inmates placed in the group of drug trafficking, "normally do not do drugs", are dominant, manipulative, seductive.

Those sentenced for theft are observers, with characteristics associated with obsession and thoroughness. Violators "It is very sensitive, fragile," he added.

The white collar criminals do not express much emotion, they are cold, manipulative, seductive and observers. They have sociopathic traits are impersonal, not easily connect with others and always look their benefit.

However, he said, can not stigmatizing and say that all generators of violence are like that. When considering these profiles have to be cautious to use them.

With the model, he said, have been compared these violent groups with other public safety to delimit, it is "thin line" that separates those who engage "the good and safety and suddenly fall from the other side."

Note that criminological history of the subject, drawn from a socio-demographic and other measuring instruments questionnaire indicated that criminal conduct is not by spontaneous generation, but is multifactorial. The reasons for the incidence and recurrence are manifold.
