British UN Ambassador Matthew Rycroft also suggested toughening the cap on North Korean foreign laborers to prevent the flow of money into the North

Japan's UN ambassador has indicated he will soon have a discussion with US officials about proposing additional sanctions on North Korea. The new measures may include an oil embargo.

Koro Bessho was speaking to reporters on Wednesday. The day before, the UN Security Council unanimously approved a presidential statement that strongly condemns the North's firing of a ballistic missile over Japan.

Bessho said he wants to make some new proposals in talks with the US officials.

The ambassador had indicated the previous day that an oil embargo is one option for tighter sanctions.

British UN Ambassador Matthew Rycroft also suggested toughening the cap on North Korean foreign laborers to prevent the flow of money into the North.

The Security Council on August 5th adopted a sanctions resolution banning the employment of additional North Koreans in other countries.
