During his visit to Argentina, the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy of Mexico, Francisco de Rosenzweig, held several meetings with the aim of reviewing bilateral commitments for trade in motor vehicles and auto parts.

Along with the Secretary of Industrial Planning of the Ministry of Industry, Horacio Cepeda, agreed basis for modifying the Economic Complementation Agreement 55 (ECA 55) and maintain the free flow of bilateral trade tariffs on automotive matters, through a scheme of quotas and compensated exchange.

The talks held by officials in Buenos Aires are based on timely commitment made by the Minister of Industry of Argentina, Débora Giorgi, and the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo, to continue promoting the automotive sector in both countries, in favor of a greater regional productive integration.

The dialogue in recent days by the delegations of Mexico and Argentina in the Economy Ministry and the Ministry of Industry of Argentina, took part also the secretary of International Economic Relations of the Foreign Ministry, Carlos Bianco; Ambassador of Mexico to Argentina, Fernando Castro Trentino and the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, Vanessa Rubio Márquez, among other officials.

The basis of this agreement will be presented in the coming days by the Minister Giorgi and Secretary Guajardo.
