Mendoza visit to one of the most important wineries in the world. It has the largest technological innovation, without losing the essence traditional family
Wines Rutini history begins with the first vines were planted in Coquimbito, Maipú Mendoza in 1885. It is truly epic story of Don Felipe Rutini, a native of Italy, who decided to settle there and sow what later became La Rural. It is thanks to him that Argentina now has these wines a lasting legacy and supreme quality.
Rutini was a pioneer in implementing vines in the Alto Valle de Uco in 1925, and innovative in terms of processes and processing techniques allowed the winery has a vigorous and sustained growth throughout its history. In 2008 they started building a new winery in the Uco Valley, and in 2009 they were already producing wines from the surrounding vineyards. That's where the different lines of Rutini Wines are produced: Felipe Rutini, Apartado, Anthologies, Meeting, Collection Rutini, Trumpeter (Reservation and Classic).

If it is not cloudy, you can overlook the majestic Tupungato front of what will be in a few months the great lookout Rutini where visitors (while enjoying a menu or drinks) will delight in the infinite view offered by the wonderful nature Mendoza.
Geography and origin
Tupungato is the head town of the homonymous department in the province of Mendoza, and one of the most important cities of Valle de Uco. Accessed by Provincial Route 86, which connects north and south by National Route No. 40, and from there to Mendoza and San Rafael. South delimits the Willow Brook. The alluvial plain on which are the crops and the locality is a few kilometers from the Front Range or Eastern, visible several of the highest mountains in America, including the famous Tupungato volcano on the border with Chile.
The meaning of Tupungato varies according to the author, and you can choose the one you like. The most established and most likely is to tupun-catu, meaning "viewpoint of stars," is that which would have been the first settlers of language huarpe for excellent conditions as an observatory. But it has also been speculated Putun-catu, ie "tip of the sky", and "tupun-uta" as that frightens or rejects, the nature of the nearby volcano (tupun as whipping, and uta as bad or perverse). And finally it could mean "that dominates the valley," considering that ties and uta mean valley in the huarpe language. Whatever the semantic origin, beauty is the same.
An unforgettable excursion
ABC MUNDIAL could share talks and a generous lunch, both the managers and the workers, perceiving that particular team spirit and eagerness for the company to remain leader, knowing that every small gesture is part of a large gear so that everything goes all right.
The plant, on Provincial Route 89, at mile 10.5, has few years and is surrounded by 120 hectares of vines. It is a modern and functional building, with a formidable architecture. This is where the huge stainless steel tanks, barrels, laboratory and latest technology machines are.
During the tour, Gonzalo Fernández recounted us that the company has a production capacity of 7 million liters between the two establishments (the Montecaseros and Tupungato). Before knowing the living room with stainless steel tanks, we saw a machine that looks brought from the future: it is one of the few optical sorting of grapes that are in the country. May select between 4000 and 8000 kg of fruit per hour, through a system that identifies the fruit color, size and shape of the grapes. Its cost is obviously millionaire.
For storage tanks have conical stainless steel, a lounge with over 3,200 barrels (80% French oak and 20% American). And what began as a novel experimental, has already achieved very good results for white wines: storage "eggs" cement, capable of containing about 900 liters.
In this winery's wines and Collection Trumpeter Rutini are made. Different varieties of Anthologies, a weighted series stand out. Another premium wine is the Malbec Rutini header with 18 months aging in oak and bottle aging for 20 years. Each variety has the imprint of winemaker Mariano Di Paola, an enterprising and innovative race.
