Global warming set, in our view, a threat to national security and, therefore, we must work together to develop and implement strategies to ensure our common welfare

It is public knowledge that the danger of global warming, jeopardizing the sustainability of life and development on the planet. It is also important to convey to the readers of your prestigious newspaper government efforts of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to stop global warming. Global warming set, in our view, a threat to national security and, therefore, we must work together to develop and implement strategies to ensure our common welfare. This threat does not recognize borders and international policy issues. That is why, in order to improve energy conservation and carbon reduction, our President Ma Ying-jeou has made these purposes pillars of government action, and they have become much more than slogans to the people of Taiwan. For us, creating a low-carbon society and caring for our natural environment is the foundation of a "movement of a new kind of life."

However, Taiwan is excluded from participation in the forums of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention of the United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), which did not stop to take the necessary action to stop global warming and turn it into a "green new deal" for the nation and the world Taiwan cares for life on Earth, but the collective problems require collective solutions. To effectively address the challenge of climate change Taiwan needs to participate in the activities of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC. We expect our international partners ratify this reality and make that Taiwan is part of the solution in the search for the safety and welfare of the entire planet.
