U.S. President Barack Obama imposed sanctions on 11 Russian and Ukrainian military raid linked to Crimea, including two senior contributors of President Vladimir Putin.
Obama's order freezes any U.S. assets and prohibits travel by 11 individuals identified as responsible for the Russian incursion in Crimea.
The move was in response to the referendum through which the Crimean parliament declared independence.
This decision was made by an executive order issued by Barack Obama.

The Crimean parliament declared its independence and the nationalization of all assets of the Ukrainian state in its territory, in addition to formally apply for union with Russia, a day after the overwhelming results of a disputed referendum in the autonomous southern peninsula of Ukraine.
The 85 deputies unanimously approved these decisions after the landslide victory (96.6%) of supporters of Russian accession in a referendum yesterday.
